Dwayne Johnson Offers Hilarious Advice to College Students After Gifting Grooming Products to Them at His Alma Mater
“Study hard, have fun and don’t get too drunk as balls on Thursday nights, cos you still have class on Friday,” he wrote
Dwayne Johnson “had to take care” of his old college — and he also had to offer students a hilarious piece of advice.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, the 52-year-old Black Adam star shared a video of students at the University of Miami’s Canes Fest taking home some of Johnson’s Papatui men’s skincare and grooming products, which he called a “cool full circle moment.”
In the clip, several incoming freshmen tried out the products, gave them a scent test and told workers at a Papatui booth what they thought of the brand — and the feedback appeared to be quite positive from the new students.
“Cool full circle moment ⭕️ that I’m able to gift our Miami incoming freshman their PAPATUI so they can Take Better Care of themselves as they begin their exciting college journey,” Johnson captioned the video, adding, “because the only thing gifted to us when we were freshman at Miami was ‘3 hots and a cot’ and kicking each other’s asses on the field 😉🏈.”
Before reminding followers that Papatui is available “exclusively at Target,” Johnson also shared some advice for new college students — and he didn’t hold back.
“Study hard, have fun and don’t get too drunk as balls on Thursday nights, cos you still have class on Friday! 🥴🤣,” Johnson wrote.
Johnson joined the University of Miami football team in 1991, according to the College Football Hall of Fame, where as a defensive lineman he had a career total of 77 tackles and 4.25 sacks.
Even outside of sharing jokingly useful advice with college students, Johnson has never been shy when it comes to offering valuable lessons for his fans. Speaking with PEOPLE in April, he revealed that his mother has “always been there” for him as his biggest champion in life, as he revealed a lesson she instilled in him at a young age.

“Even when I was a punk kid in high school, getting in trouble, getting arrested, she’d say, ‘I feel like the world will hear from you one day.’ This is as she’s picking me up from the police station,” he said at the time. “The love was boundless. The support was boundless.”
As for what advice he’d have for that same “punk kid,” Johnson said that he would encourage himself to “keep doing what you’re doing.”
“Let your gut guide you. If it feels strange, there’s a reason your gut is speaking to you. Make sure you listen to that voice, and that’s going to serve you for the rest of your life,” he said. “I would also say to that kid from years ago: ‘Listen, you’re stealing Snickers every single day before the gym. One day you’re not going to be an asshole. Go back to the 7-Eleven in Hawaii and buy all the Snickers, pay for them, and leave them there for other people.’ “
