Travis and Jason Kelce Hilariously Recreate Happy Gilmore Golf Scene in New Video: Watch!

Travis Kelce and his brother Jason are channeling Happy Gilmore!
On Thursday, Aug. 29, the brothers starred in a hilarious video jointly posted on the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce and Jason’s Instagram pages, in which they recreated a scene from the classic 1996 comedy.
The clip opened with Travis, 34, on a golf course sporting a white hat, green polo shirt, white shorts and sneakers.
“Hey Happy,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said with a grin before turning toward a ball to prepare to take his tee shot. “You too good for your home?” he added, quoting Adam Sandler’s titular character.
Travis then copied Gilmore’s famous run and hit technique as the video cut to a scene from the movie showing a shot flying through the air and then later hitting a neighbor on the head.
Next, Jason, 36, hilariously appeared with his head superimposed on the mover character (played by William Sasso in the film) who says to Happy, “You hit that guy!”
The clip then cut to Travis’ head superimposed onto Happy as he says in response, “He shouldn’t have been standing there.”
Although the hilarious video was an edited version of the actual scene, it was some good practice for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has a role in Sandler’s upcoming sequel, Happy Gilmore 2.
The actor and director, 57, first revealed the news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Aug. 20 and discussed Travis’ cameo further during an appearance on the Kelce brothers New Heights podcast on Aug. 28.
“We were talking about you playing my son while we were writing it literally like, six months ago,” Sandler said on the podcast. “We were like, ‘Imagine if Travis was my first baby, how funny that would be.’ “
Travis responded by noting that he believes he’s “got the swing down,” and shared that he’d headed out to practice his golf swing after Sandler revealed his role in the movie on The Tonight Show.
“Travis, we’re gonna have fun,” the actor told the NFL player later in the podcast.
“The scene you’re doing is with so many great golfers,” he continued, “It’s gonna be amazing. You’re gonna be funny as hell.”
Sandler also shared a little about the sequel, which is in the works almost 30 years after the original movie was released, explaining that it “picks up from an older guy who played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life, and he’s different — he’s a bit of a mess. And then we try to get his life cooking again.”
