Taylor Frankie Paul is getting real about how Reddit rumors led to the soft-swinging scandal that rocked MomTok.
Paul shocked the #MomTok community in June 2022 when she revealed that she and her husband, Tate Paul, were getting a divorce.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows the aftermath of Paul’s marriage ending, leading her to expose that a group of friends from MomTok were “soft-swinging” and “had an arrangement” together.
“I got on a TikTok live,” she says on the series, as moments from the live play in the scene. “I, at least, wanted to explain that to people. My husband wanted to share. He did want to open that up. So it’s like, I caught feelings for a man that my husband welcomed into our house.”

Appearing on an episode of The Viall Files, Taylor expanded on the importance of setting the record straight as rumors that she cheated on her then-husband with her best friend’s husband began circulating online.
Explaining that the soft-swinging was going on between different people for over a year at that point, Taylor recalls, “We do this for a while with this couple, cabin parties, making out in the same bed, intercourse in the same bed next to each other, the girls kissing and the husbands touching the other’s wife.”
She explained that as things escalated and progressed, “you could kind of see people are creating feelings at this point. People are getting jealous and weird.”

Taylor and her ex didn’t find themselves on the same page about scaling back, which is when things began to fall apart. She describes the groups as acting like “inexperienced swingers” and compares them to college students learning to manage their sexual lives for the first time.
Things changed when they decided on a divorce and rumors began to pop up on Reddit.

“I don’t know who did it, but it ended up hitting the internet. All my TikToks were like, ‘Cheater, husband stealer.’ And the girls were liking it, confirming it, my friends. So I was like okay, well if you’re gonna do that, I’m just gonna go tell my story,” she says.
“So I got online, not thinking at all, but like, ‘Hey yes, I did do this, but we were also all hooking up just the other night.’ It just didn’t feel like it was fair … There was a lot more to the story than just I am some sort of home wrecker.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently streaming on Hulu.
