When her husband left her for a younger brunette, a determined wife decided to teach him a tough lesson.
“Divorce? You can’t be serious, John!” Nicky exclaimed, her voice trembling with disbelief. “And now you’re asking for a fair share?” she added, barely holding herself together in her seat as John casually declared he was “bored” with his life and wanted to live it on his own terms.
John smirked. “Come on, Nicky, you had to see this coming. Let’s not pretend there’s anything left between us. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life stuck in misery with you. I want to live—like a free man. I’ll find someone amazing, someone vibrant, not dull and lifeless like you! That’s why I’m divorcing you.”
Nicky’s eyes narrowed as she snapped back, “Oh, you think it’s going to be that easy, John? Dream on! You want to live like a free man? Well, guess what—you won’t see a single cent from me, let alone a share of anything! And don’t even think I’m signing those divorce papers.”
“Nicky, you can’t do that! You will be forced to sign the documents if you refuse to do so on your own initiative.
Nicky chuckled. “Oh, Johnny, how unfortunate! What are you going to do? Bring home a mistress? You know, those little girls you’ve been teasing? John, they won’t cook and clean for you the way I did! I took care of you for forty-seven years! While you went out with friends, drank beer, and slept on the couch in the living room after work, I reared our kids alone. And you believe you’ll get away with it? “Never!”
Karma cannot be avoided.
John paused, checking his wristwatch. “Well then,” he said. “I don’t believe I have any escape routes. In an hour, I will depart for a trip to Mexico. I’ll be gone for six months, I suppose. I made all of the reservations and, well, I spent almost all of the money we had saved in our joint account.
“Let’s see if you would voluntarily get a divorce from me or if you would keep begging for money and struggle to make ends meet. What would a stay-at-home woman like you do, after all, if she had no money? “Have fun, honey,” he murmured, making fun of her. “I’m looking forward to my time in Mexico!”
“What? What the devil did you do?John, it also took my savings! You have no right to utilize it without first talking to me about it.
“Nicky, I knew you would cause a stir over your divorce. That’s how I had it planned, then.”
John then left the divorce papers for Nicky, went to their bedroom, packed his belongings, and left their home. “Sign it right now if you don’t want to live with the fallout from your choice. Before he left, he added, “If not, your life will be nothing but hell from now on.”
As Nicky saw John leave, she started crying. She had only lately learned that John was having affairs with women much younger than him who were only interested in a night’s stand and not interested in a committed relationship, even though he hadn’t been the greatest partner ever. He thus attempted to divorce her in order to get rid of her.
Nicky, however, was opposed to the divorce. She was alone with John after their daughter and son left. She therefore remained silent even after learning of his adultery in the hopes that things would get better, but sadly, they didn’t. John ultimately said he wanted to divorce her. However, she was determined not to overlook him. John, not this time! You will not escape punishment!
After three months…
The doorbell rang when Nicky was in the living room, eating chocolate chip cookies, drinking raspberry tea, and constantly checking her watch. When she spotted John at the door, her mouth fell open. “Why are you in this place? You should be in Mexico, right?
“Oh, Nicky! “I’m so sorry for what I did!” he pleaded, lowering himself to his knees. “Pardon me, please. I made a mistake by leaving you. I ought not to have done that.
Nicky was taken aback. “John, what’s the matter? Okay, calm down. “How about we go inside and have a conversation?”
“Oh, Nicky! How do I even begin? After they were situated inside, he started, “I met this young girl, Maddison.” “I thought she loved me, and she was beautiful. Together, we traveled to Mexico for two months.However, she was dishonest! She stole from me! She stole everything I owned, even my money! Together, we were residing in her small apartment in Mexico. She forced me to do all of her chores, including cleaning and cooking. I even took care of her two kids because I thought she loved me. “But each night,” he said, clearing his throat.
“She always made an excuse and left with her kids whenever they entered the room, so we never slept together. She stated she would marry me, but it was all fake…she – she was only seeking the money!”
“Oh, dear!” Nicky gasped. “That is awful, awful, awful.You know what….” The doorbell rang just as she was about to speak.
“John, just a moment. Let me see who’s there,” Nicky remarked as he stepped to the door.
“Nicky, who is there?”What are you doing in this place?” When John saw Maddison on their porch, he was surprised. “Hey Nicky! She is the one! She’s the one who robbed me!”
After exchanging eyes, the two women started laughing.
“Okay, John! I am fully informed. Meet Maddison, also known as Mandy, as you mentioned. She is my friend’s daughter. A single mother of two who helped me gather evidence against my infidel husband! John, I had told you you would be sorry! I called Madison for assistance after locating your hotel on Facebook. All of this was a ruse, honey, and I’m delighted you were duped.”
“What?” John blew up. “You intentionally did all of this? Nicky, you’ll regret it! You will.
“No, John,” shouted Nicky. “You will be the one at a loss this time. Take your luggage and leave my house immediately! And sure, you jerk, I am divorcing you! And I’ll make sure you don’t receive a dime! So get up and leave! “NOW LEAVE MY HOUSE!”
John mumbled something Nicky didn’t care about, packed his bags, and walked out of the house. She thanked Mandy for her assistance, and the two women laughed at how beautifully their plan had worked out while sipping a cup of delectable raspberry tea on that cool morning.
When John and Nicky’s children found out about their divorce a few months later, they adopted their mother’s stance and made fun of their father for being so low.
What does this narrative teach us?
Karma cannot be avoided. John promised to make Nicky’s life as miserable as possible after cheating on her, but karma caught up with him.
Give up considering housewives to be weak. Because he was the primary provider and therefore had the leverage in the marriage, John thought he could easily persuade Nicky to file for divorce. Karma, however, disproved him.
